Monday night football in Serie A brings us a crucial clash at the Stadio Olimpico, as AS Roma welcome Fiorentina in a match that could have major implications for European qualification.

Roma are firmly in the hunt for a Champions League spot, sitting sixth with 61 points from 34 games. They trail fourth-placed Juventus by just four points, though the Bianconeri have played one more match. Every point is precious now, and the Giallorossi will be desperate to make home advantage count.

There's good news in the Roma camp, as Paulo Dybala and Manu Koné have both recovered from recent fitness issues. Dybala already made a cameo from the bench in Roma's last outing, and fans will be hoping the Argentine magician can weave his usual brilliance. However, the treatment room remains busy. Captain Lorenzo Pellegrini is sidelined with a thigh strain, while Bryan Zaragoza misses out with knee inflammation. Up front, the attacking options are thin, with both Artem Dovbyk and Evan Ferguson unavailable, meaning Donyell Malen will once again lead the line.

Defensively, Konstantinos Tsimikas faces a late fitness test for muscular problems, and Neil El Aynaoui is suspended after accumulating too many yellow cards. Expect Matis Soulé and Dybala to support Malen as Roma push hard for that top-four finish.

Across the pitch, Fiorentina manager Paolo Vanoli has his own selection headaches. Star forward Moise Kean is absent due to family reasons and an ongoing shin injury, while backup striker Roberto Piccoli is also out with a thigh strain. That likely forces Albert Gudmundsson into an unfamiliar "false nine" role to lead the attack.

There is some good news for the Viola, though. Defender Marin Pongracic returns from suspension to anchor the backline, while wing-backs Robin Gosens and Fabiano Parisi are expected to be available, adding much-needed width and experience. Tariq Lamptey and Niccolò Fortini remain long-term absentees, but with veteran goalkeeper David De Gea between the sticks and a stable midfield trio featuring Rolando Mandragora and Nicolo Fagioli, Fiorentina have a solid foundation to build on.

With both teams chasing European glory, expect a fiercely contested encounter under the lights in Rome.
