Top-ranked women’s tennis player Aryna Sabalenka has suggested a potential boycott of grand slam tournaments if players do not begin to receive a larger share of the revenue. Players are also advocating for improved representation, health provisions, and pensions across all four grand slam events: the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open. While French Open organisers announced a 10 per cent increase in overall prize money last month, bringing the total to 61.7 million euros (£53.3 million), the players’ statement argued that "the underlying figures tell a very different story."
