The future of Arsenal's academy is looking brighter than ever, with two of the club's most promising young talents earning international recognition. Luis Munoz and Jaden Maghoma have been called up by the England Under-15s for an upcoming international tournament, marking another milestone in their burgeoning careers.
The young Lions will travel to Croatia later this month for a competitive mini-tournament that kicks off with a group stage featuring Japan, Brazil, and the host nation. Depending on their performance in the group, England could face South Korea, Switzerland, the USA, or Portugal in the knockout rounds. If they top their group, they'll take on the best team from the other group in a winner-takes-all final.
Both Munoz and Maghoma have already made their debuts for the England Under-15s in late 2024, and they'll be looking to build on that experience. The tournament schedule is packed: England face Japan on Tuesday, May 19th, Brazil on Wednesday, May 20th, and Croatia on Friday, May 22nd, with the final match on Sunday, May 24th.
These call-ups come on the back of impressive seasons at club level. Fourteen-year-old Munoz has been turning heads with his rapid rise through the Arsenal academy, making his debut for the Under-19s in the UEFA Youth League and scoring for the Under-18s off the bench against Fulham in the Premier League. Meanwhile, 15-year-old Maghoma also made his Under-19 debut in the Youth League, and the duo recently helped Arsenal's Under-15s win the Next Gen Cup in Beijing.
Both players found the net during the group stage of that cup competition, with Maghoma adding a goal in the final to cap off a memorable tournament. Their international form has been equally promising—Munoz scored in his last England Under-15s appearance against Cyprus, while Maghoma bagged a brace on his debut for the side against Iceland in December.
With their combination of talent, versatility, and a winning mentality, Munoz and Maghoma are poised for many more appearances in Under-18 football and beyond. For now, though, they'll be focused on representing England with pride and continuing their development on the international stage.
