Arnold Allen wants the UFC to start awarding title shots to the most deserving contenders.

Arnold Allen is calling it like he sees it: the UFC should give title shots to the fighters who have truly earned them. And in his book, that means undefeated Movsar Evloev deserves the next crack at featherweight gold.

Allen (20-4 MMA, 11-3 UFC) knows firsthand what it takes to compete at the top of the division. He's shared the Octagon with both Evloev (20-0 MMA, 10-0 UFC) and rising contender Jean Silva (17-3 MMA, 6-1 UFC), dropping razor-thin decisions to each. When asked who would give reigning champion Alexander Volkanovski (28-4 MMA, 15-3 UFC) a tougher fight, Allen didn't hesitate.

"Movsar," Allen told MMA Junkie. "Volk's too dynamic, too smart for Silva."

As Allen prepares to face streaking featherweight Melquizael Costa (26-7 MMA, 6-2 UFC) in Saturday's main event at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, he's keeping a close eye on the title picture. Evloev's resume speaks volumes: wins over Allen, Lerone Murphy, Diego Lopes, and former champion Aljamain Sterling. It's the kind of run that's hard to ignore.

"You've got to give it to Movsar," Allen said. "I know his track record doesn't look good. He's had a lot of pullouts, a lot of canceled fights, but it is a sport, and I think for the integrity of the sport, a guy has done the job and beat the guys. However, I feel he beat me. However, Aljamain feels he beat him. However, Diego Lopes feels, he got the win. So, it is what it is."

It's a refreshingly honest take from a fighter who's been in the trenches. In a sport where hype often outweighs merit, Allen is making a case for rewarding consistency and quality wins—something every fan of the game can appreciate.
