Arne Slot has made it clear he expects to remain at the helm of Liverpool next season, expressing unwavering confidence that his job is safe despite a challenging title defense. The Dutch manager, who has one year left on his contract, insists ongoing discussions with the club's hierarchy give him "every reason to believe" he won't be sacked.

Liverpool currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, a far cry from their championship-winning form last season. The defending champions have yet to secure Champions League qualification, sparking frustration among fans. Some supporters voiced their displeasure during last week's 1-1 draw with Chelsea, booing Slot's substitution of Rio Ngumoha and at the final whistle. However, Slot remains confident in the backing of director of football Richard Hughes and owners Fenway Sports Group.

"I don't think I am deciding that alone by myself, but I have every reason to believe I am the Liverpool manager next season," Slot stated. "First of all, I am contracted to this club, and second of all from all the talks we are having. That is my take on it."

Slot acknowledged that criticism is inevitable when a team falls short of expectations, especially after last season's success. "If you compare it with last season, this has definitely not been a great season, then it is also normal that criticism comes," he said. "We have all had our share—the players, the manager, and other people in the club. That is how things work nowadays if you don't win the league."

Looking ahead, Slot revealed he is actively involved in shaping Liverpool's future. The club is preparing for life after Mohamed Salah, who is set to depart this summer, and plans are already underway. "We know where we go on tour, so our plans have been made, and talks have been ongoing between the club and new players, and I am involved in that," Slot confirmed.

While some supporters have called for a change in leadership, Slot remains focused on the bigger picture. "I think the world has gone to if a manager or a club doesn't have their best season there is always a debate about that—it is not only Liverpool," he reflected. For now, the Dutchman is determined to steer the Reds through this transitional period and back to the top.
