When the UFC brings a championship fight to the White House, you can bet they're leaving nothing to chance. That's why Arman Tsarukyan has been tapped as the official backup for the UFC Freedom 250 main event—ready to step in from the wings, or perhaps even the West Wing, should either lightweight champion Ilia Topuria or challenger Justin Gaethje be forced out of the bout.

UFC CEO Dana White confirmed the news during a press conference Friday at Newark's Prudential Center. The historic June 14 event will take place at the White House itself, part of the United States' 250th anniversary celebration—making this backup role even more significant.

Tsarukyan (23-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC) has been on a tear, riding a five-fight winning streak that culminated in a dominant November victory over Dan Hooker. The 29-year-old hasn't been idle since, staying sharp with frequent appearances in Real American Freestyle (RAF) wrestling. His only UFC losses? They came against the elite: Islam Makhachev and Mateusz Gamrot.

Both Topuria (17-0 MMA, 9-0 UFC) and Gaethje (27-5 MMA, 10-5 UFC) seemed unfazed by the news of a backup waiting in the wings. "Me personally, I don't care who I'm going to have in front of me," Topuria said with characteristic confidence. "June 14, I'm going to break his jaw in the first minute, whether it's Arman or Justin."

For fight fans, this means one thing: no matter what happens, the lightweight title fight at the White House is guaranteed to deliver fireworks. And for those looking to gear up like their favorite fighters, it's the perfect reminder that preparation—and the right apparel—can make all the difference when your number is called.
