"When we're playing our best softball, we're locked into the moment," Lowe says. "Right now, we're focused on this interview. Tomorrow morning, we'll put everything into pregame BP. The moment you look back at the past or ahead to the future, that's when you lose your way."

That mindset will be put to the test starting Thursday, when Arizona faces in-state rival Arizona State in the opening round. The Wildcats currently sit at No. 19 in RPI and No. 20 in both KPI and DSR—strong metrics that could help them secure an NCAA regional hosting spot. A deep run in Oklahoma City, especially with wins over tough opponents like Oklahoma State and Texas Tech, would only strengthen their case. Arizona went 1-2 against both teams on the road this season, so this tournament offers a chance for redemption.

"We don't give up on anything ever," Lowe adds. "That's not the Wildcat way."

To achieve their postseason goals, Arizona will need to solve a common challenge: dominant pitching. Texas Tech boasts two elite arms, and Oklahoma State and Arizona State each have ace-level talent. But the Wildcats have already shown they can score against the Red Raiders' top pitchers, proving they have the firepower to compete.
