How big a role could OL Chase Bisontis have as a rookie for the Arizona Cardinals?

The Arizona Cardinals made a big splash in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, selecting running back Jeremiyah Love third overall. But while Love will grab the headlines, another rookie might be just as important to the team's success this season.

ESPN's Field Yates recently highlighted 20 post-first-round draft picks who could make an immediate impact, and leading the list is the Cardinals' own second-round selection: offensive lineman Chase Bisontis.

It's no surprise that the second pick of Day 2 is expected to step into a meaningful role right away. Bisontis spent his freshman year at Texas A&M playing right tackle, giving him valuable versatility. However, with the free-agent signing of veteran left guard Isaac Seumalo, the Cardinals are likely to slot Bisontis in at right guard—his natural college position.

That means he'll only need to beat out Isaiah Adams for the starting job, a battle that seems very winnable for a player who was projected to go as high as the late first round. And while some fans see right tackle as a need, the team already has a solid option there in Elijah Wilkinson, who signed a two-year deal after playing every snap at right tackle for the Atlanta Falcons in 2025.

Bisontis brings the kind of grit and athleticism that can anchor a line for years. Keep an eye on him during OTAs and training camp—if he locks down that right guard spot, the Cardinals' offense could be even more dangerous than expected.
