There are conflicting reports about the two tech billionaires' interest in the team.

When the Paul G. Allen estate announced plans to sell the Seattle Seahawks—fresh off their Super Bowl 60 victory—the sports world immediately began speculating about potential buyers. Among the early names floated? Two of tech's biggest titans: Meta's Mark Zuckerberg and Apple's Tim Cook.

According to a report from Front Office Sports, both billionaires were rumored to have interest in the NFL franchise. Zuckerberg, with an estimated net worth of $206 billion, could easily purchase the team outright. Cook, however, with a reported $2.9 billion fortune, would likely need to bring in investors to make a play for the Super Bowl champions.

But before Seahawks fans start imagining a future with Silicon Valley ownership, it's time to pump the brakes. The report quickly drew pushback from multiple credible sources.

Journalist Dylan Byers was among the first to call out the story, stating flatly that neither Zuckerberg nor Cook are entertaining a bid. "Period, full stop," he emphasized, citing sources close to both men. Bloomberg's Kurt Wagner echoed that sentiment, reporting that the tech CEOs have no interest in the Seahawks.

Interestingly, the Front Office Sports reporter who broke the original story later walked it back, tweeting that a source close to Apple called the rumor "completely false," while a Meta spokesperson confirmed to Bloomberg that Zuckerberg is not making a bid. The reporter did note that spokespeople for both companies had ample opportunity to deny the report before publication.

So what does this mean for the Seahawks' future? The franchise will undoubtedly attract serious suitors—NFL teams rarely stay on the market long. But if you were hoping to see Mark Zuckerberg or Tim Cook in the owner's box, you can put those dreams to rest. For now, the Seahawks remain a prize for someone else to claim.
