Another big winner on Sunday? He's becoming a familiar face

One week after he teamed up with his brother to win the Zurich Classic, Alex Fitzpatrick didn't slow down at the Cadillac Championship.

Just a week after celebrating a life-changing victory with his brother at the Zurich Classic, Alex Fitzpatrick showed he's no one-hit wonder. The 27-year-old Englishman stepped onto the iconic Blue Monster course at Trump National Doral and delivered another impressive performance at the Cadillac Championship—proving that his recent success is anything but a fluke.

For those who missed last week's drama, Alex teamed up with his older brother Matt—the 2022 U.S. Open champion—to win the Zurich Classic in New Orleans. While the victory was another notch in Matt's belt (he's now world No. 4), it was a career-defining moment for Alex. The win earned him a two-year PGA Tour membership and a ticket to Signature Events, a massive leap for a player who entered that week ranked 141st.

Fast forward to Sunday at Doral, and Alex was sharing the fairways with golf's elite: Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, and Collin Morikawa. In just his 12th career PGA Tour start, he didn't just show up—he showed out. His rounds of 72-66-74-67 put him at nine under par, finishing 10 shots behind runaway winner Young but just four back of Scheffler, who claimed solo second.

What made the performance even more impressive? Alex led the entire field in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee (+4.15) and ranked first in driving accuracy. If there's one area to work on, it's the flat stick—he finished 63rd in putting. But for a player who's still finding his footing on the biggest stage, those numbers are a promising sign of things to come.

"I'm doing the right things with my golf game," Alex said Friday. "I'm working towards the right things. It's exciting."

Despite already securing his Tour card, Alex admits the pressure hasn't disappeared. "There's still loads of expectations that I put on myself," he shared. "It was unbelievable to win, but then you come out here and you're expected to compete... Everything's a bonus at this stage, which does help, but I'm still a golfer at the end of the day."

With a DP World Tour win at the Hero Indian Open already under his belt this season and now back-to-back strong showings on the PGA Tour, Alex Fitzpatrick is quickly becoming a name to watch. Whether you're gearing up for your own weekend round or just following the tour, one thing's clear: this Fitzpatrick brother is writing his own story.
