PFF predicts Tennessee Titans QB Cam Ward will be a breakout player in 2026, citing improved circumstances.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward is generating serious buzz, and Wednesday was another big day for the young signal-caller. Not only did the league and Netflix announce that his journey to the NFL will be featured on the upcoming show "Quarterback" (debuting July 14), but he also landed on yet another list of potential breakout stars.

The latest expert to buy into Ward's 2026 leap is Bradley Locker of Pro Football Focus (PFF), who named Ward the quarterback on his All-Breakout team. While the 2025 quarterback class wasn't as loaded as the year before, it has already produced three starters with real upside heading into 2026. According to Locker, picking any of Ward, Tyler Shough, or Jaxson Dart to excel in Year 2 would be valid, but Ward feels like the most logical choice.

Ward's rookie campaign didn't go exactly as planned. He finished with a 56.4 PFF passing grade and had more turnover-worthy plays (23) than big-time throws (21). But don't let those numbers fool you—Ward showed real flashes down the stretch. He posted three games with at least a 78.7 overall PFF grade from Week 12 onward, proving he can perform under pressure. His supporting cast also didn't do him many favors, as his receiving corps earned just the 27th-best PFF receiving grade in the league.

Fast forward to 2026, and the circumstances are significantly better for the former No. 1 overall pick. Ward now has two major weapons at receiver: No. 4 overall pick Carnell Tate and former New York Giant Wan'Dale Robinson, who can attack every area of the field. Add in new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll—a proven play-caller with a knack for developing quarterbacks—and the pieces are finally in place for Ward's sky-high talent to consistently shine.

Ward didn't start to flash until the second half of 2025, after former head coach Brian Callahan (and his questionable play-calling) was fired. Now, with Daboll calling the shots and an improved receiving corps, Ward is poised to take a giant step forward this season. For Titans fans and fantasy football enthusiasts alike, 2026 is shaping up to be the year Cam Ward puts it all together.
