The Boston Celtics have a big problem—literally. After losing Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis, and Luke Kornet in the offseason, the team's lack of size became a glaring weakness. Now, an anonymous NBA scout is sounding the alarm: if the Celtics want to be taken seriously as title contenders, they need to upgrade at center.

Neemias Queta, the Portuguese big man, stepped up as the starting center and had a career year, even earning Most Improved Player buzz. He averaged 10.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks during the regular season. But when the playoffs arrived, his production dipped to 9.3 points and 0.9 blocks per game. The postseason is where champions are made, and Queta couldn't sustain his regular-season success.

The midseason acquisition of Nikola Vucevic didn't help either. He struggled mightily in the playoffs and was benched during the team's Game 7 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round. For a franchise with 18 banners hanging in the rafters, that's not the kind of ending anyone in Boston wants to see.

"Can Queta get you through 82 games? Yes, but can he patchwork it through the playoffs?" an anonymous Western Conference scout told ESPN. "I think he keeps getting better, but there's a ceiling. They have to get a higher-level center if they want to be considered serious contenders."

The message is clear: the Celtics have the guards, the wings, and the coaching—but they need a true anchor in the paint. Whether it's through a trade or free agency, finding that difference-maker at center could be the missing piece to another deep playoff run. For a team that's always chasing greatness, the clock is ticking.
