In a move that sent shockwaves through the WNBA, the Atlanta Dream pulled off a blockbuster trade to acquire superstar forward Angel Reese from the Chicago Sky. Reese's tenure in Chicago was marked by tension with the front office, but Atlanta sees her as the missing piece to their championship puzzle.

"Angel is a dynamic talent and a perfect fit for what we are building in Atlanta," said Dream general manager Dan Padover. "Her competitiveness, production, and drive to win align seamlessly with our vision. This is an exciting moment for our organization and our fans."

However, the transition hasn't been entirely smooth. Reese has struggled to find her rhythm in Atlanta's preseason games, turning in inconsistent performances that have fans and analysts alike taking notice. In her first preseason outing against her former team, the Sky, she shot just 2-for-7 from the field. Her home debut against the Washington Mystics was only slightly better, going 3-for-7.

The silver lining? Reese has been a force on the boards, averaging 5.5 rebounds in limited minutes. The Dream will need her to step up offensively, but with the regular season still ahead, there's plenty of time to fine-tune the chemistry.

Off the court, Reese is making headlines for a different reason. She's set to attend Monday night's prestigious Met Gala, and she's using the platform to highlight the growing influence of women's sports.

"It's just another expansion of women's sports and continuing to build our brand outside of being a basketball player," Reese told USA Today. "There are going to be some WNBA players there... That should just be the standard."

Reese and the Dream will tip off the regular season on May 9 against the Minnesota Lynx. Until then, expect the star forward to balance her high-fashion appearances with the hard work needed to make Atlanta a contender.
