Continuing their offensive woes, the Los Angeles Angels fell once again to the Cleveland Guardians on Wednesday afternoon, suffering a series sweep to close out another disappointing road trip.

The Los Angeles Angels' offensive struggles continued on Wednesday afternoon as they were swept by the Cleveland Guardians, capping off a disappointing road trip with a 4-2 loss.

Facing one of the league's premier arms in Guardians ace Parker Messick, the Angels' lineup—already mired in a deep slump—had little answer. Messick delivered another masterful performance, holding the Angels to just two runs over 6.2 innings while striking out seven and walking three. The left-hander's ERA now sits at an impressive 2.35, as he continues to dominate opposing batters with efficiency.

The lone bright spot for Los Angeles came in the fifth inning, when shortstop Zach Neto launched a two-run home run to briefly cut the deficit. But that was all the offense the Angels could muster, marking the fifth time in their last six games that they've scored two runs or fewer—and they've lost every one of those contests.

On the mound, Angels starter Reid Detmers struggled with command from the outset. Cleveland's Angel Martinez led off the game with a home run, setting the tone early. Detmers managed to limit damage through nearly six innings, but his control issues were evident: through his first 59 pitches, only 30 found the strike zone, and he issued two walks while hitting two batters.

The Guardians also exploited the Angels' catching situation, stealing four bases in the first four innings against Sebastián Rivero. With starting catcher Logan O'Hoppe nearing a return from the injured list—currently on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Salt Lake—the Angels hope for a boost behind the plate.

Cleveland added an insurance run in the sixth on an RBI single, sealing the sweep and extending the Angels' offensive woes. The road trip ends with just one win in six games, leaving plenty of questions for Los Angeles as they head home.
