10-Man Sunderland had to settle for a point at Molineux following Ballard’s red card, here’s how Andy rated the lads!

In a hard-fought Championship clash at Molineux, 10-man Sunderland had to settle for a point against Wolves after defender Dan Ballard's second-half red card turned the tide. Here's how the lads rated in a gritty 1-1 stalemate that tested their resilience to the limit.

Robin Roefs: 7/10
The Dutchman was steady between the sticks, making a series of solid saves that kept Sunderland in the game. A strong palm out and a sharp tip-over after the break were standout moments, while his pinpoint first-time pass to Isidor should have created a clear one-on-one chance. Roefs showed composure under pressure throughout.

Leo Hjelde: 6/10
Got Sunderland off to a flying start with a far-post header from Xhaka's corner, putting the visitors deservedly ahead. Almost grabbed a second late on but his effort trickled harmlessly into the keeper's hands. After Ballard's dismissal, Hjelde shifted into central defence and handled the extra responsibility well.

Dan Ballard: 4/10
A frustrating afternoon for the defender, who saw red for a soft challenge. In the current climate of high-profile incidents, Ballard should have known better than to put himself in that position. His absence forced Sunderland into a defensive reshuffle that ultimately cost them control of the game.

Luke O'Nien: 7/10
A warrior-like display from the veteran. One risky pass nearly gifted Wolves a breakaway, but otherwise he was a mountain at the back, throwing his body on the line time and again. Almost scored with a brilliant first touch from Xhaka's ball, but his best moment was a vital interception just before half-time that denied Wolves a free shot on goal.

Trai Hume: 6/10
Defended his flank diligently, keeping his marker largely quiet. However, he appeared to tire as the game wore on, a testament to the relentless pressure Sunderland faced while down to 10 men.

Dan Neil: 7/10
Sat deep in front of the defence, helping Sunderland keep Wolves at bay, but showed his energy by charging forward on the press as the game opened up. Played several lovely balls into attacking areas, with passes to Alderete and Isidor almost unlocking the Wolves backline. Had a go himself from Talbi's lay-off, but his shot drifted just wide.

Jobe Bellingham: 6/10
Covered an incredible amount of ground while Sunderland were down to 10 men, constantly closing down the spare man. Created a half-chance for Talbi in the first half by winning the ball high up the pitch and laying it off neatly.

Patrick Roberts: 5/10
A frustrating outing for the winger, who struggled to make his mark. Got beaten too easily from a defensive set piece that led to Wolves' equaliser, but defended well in open play, including a crucial tackle on the edge of the six-yard box when the hosts looked certain to score.

Jack Clarke: 6/10
Provided a consistent outlet on the flank but his final ball was missing throughout the match. Kept possession well when Sunderland had the ball, but his shots were underhit. Did manage one good cross for Isidor that hinted at what might have been on a better day.

It was a performance full of grit and character from Sunderland, who showed they can compete even when the odds are stacked against them. For the fans heading back up north, there's plenty of pride to take from this point—even if the red card leaves a lingering sense of what might have been.
