Sunderland were the better team but could not find their way past Senne Lammens, here’s how Andy rated the lads!

Sunderland dominated the match but couldn't break the deadlock against a resilient Manchester United side. Here's how Andy rated the Black Cats' performance in this frustrating 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light.

Robin Roefs: 7/10
The goalkeeper made a crucial late save to preserve his clean sheet. While he got lucky with a heavy touch when a Man United player closed in, Roefs was largely a spectator for most of the afternoon.

Right Back: 7/10
A composed display from the right-back position. Solid defensively all afternoon, comfortable on the ball, and made an impact going forward—especially after halftime when he pushed into central areas. One such run saw him strike the post from a Brobbey lay-off.

Centre Back: 7/10
Moved into central defense due to Ballard's suspension and dominated proceedings. Made several timely blocks to deny dangerous crosses, proving his versatility and composure under pressure.

Alderete: 7/10
Another strong outing from the defender. Dominant in the air, effectively snuffed Zirkzee out of the game, and linked up well with Reinildo when in possession. A rock at the back.

Left Back: 7/10
Gave former Sunderland playmaker Amad absolutely nothing to work with all game. The winger was largely ineffectual, thanks to disciplined defending throughout the contest.

Midfielder: 6/10
Helped Geertruida defensively when needed and found himself in space on several occasions in attack. However, his final ball was very poor today, letting down promising positions.

Midfielder: 8/10 (Man of the Match)
Head and shoulders above everyone else in midfield. Always in the right place to win back possession, and aside from one missed pass to Talbi in acres of space in the second half, consistently chose the right option. A commanding presence.

Midfielder: 7/10
Should have scored early on after showing great footwork to progress the ball into the box. He tried to send Lammens the wrong way, but the goalkeeper saved well. Beyond that miss, he played well—snapping at United's feet and covering every blade of grass as usual.

Winger: 6/10
Curled a shot just wide early on and was always an option out wide, receiving the ball time and again. Perhaps not aggressive enough on the ball, but a solid outing overall.

Attacking Midfielder: 7/10
Played some excellent long balls to Talbi on the left, led the press effectively, and created space for himself before setting up Brobbey for a great chance. Looks far more comfortable in the number 10 role with freedom to roam.

Striker: 6/10
Gave Maguire and Martinez a real physical battle throughout, but couldn't find the breakthrough. Worked hard but lacked the final product on a frustrating afternoon for the Black Cats.

Despite the dominant display, Sunderland couldn't find a way past Senne Lammens, leaving fans frustrated but hopeful that this performance level can translate into goals in future matches. For now, it's back to the training ground to sharpen that final touch.
