Carlo Ancelotti has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the helm of the Brazilian national team through the 2030 World Cup, signaling a long-term commitment to restoring the Seleção to global dominance.

The 66-year-old Italian tactician took over in May 2025 following his departure from Real Madrid, and has already guided Brazil to qualification for the 2026 World Cup—set to be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States next month. In his 10 matches in charge, Ancelotti has posted a record of five wins, two draws, and three losses.

"From the very first minute, I understood what football means to this country," Ancelotti said. "For the past year, we have been working to lead the Brazilian national team back to the very top of the world stage. But the CBF and I want more. More victories, more time, more work. We are very happy to announce that we will continue together for another four years."

Brazil enters the 2026 tournament chasing a historic sixth World Cup title—and their first since 2002. Ancelotti is expected to announce his squad on 18 May, with the campaign kicking off against Morocco on 13 June. Group C also includes Haiti and Scotland.

CBF president Samir Xaud called the extension a "historic day for the CBF and for Brazilian football," adding that it represents "another firm step in our commitment to offering the five-time world champion national team an increasingly strong, modern and competitive structure."
