The Mike McCarthy era in Pittsburgh has officially begun, and all eyes are on how the new head coach will shape the roster through the draft. With the Steelers having selected offensive players with their first pick for four consecutive years, the big question is: will that trend continue?

According to NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah, one selection makes perfect sense for the black and gold: USC wide receiver Denzel Boston. On a pre-draft conference call, Jeremiah pointed out that adding the 6'4" Boston to a receiver room already featuring DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. would create a formidable trio of giants on the outside. "That would give them three giants out there," Jeremiah noted.

This move would address a clear need. While Metcalf and Pittman form a strong top duo for 2026, the depth behind them lacks proven game-changers. Investing in another high-ceiling receiver could provide crucial support for the quarterback, whether it's Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, or a future draft pick.

Such a pick would also mark a strategic shift. Since 2014, the Steelers have not used a first-round selection on a wide receiver, opting instead for other offensive positions in recent years. Under McCarthy's offensive vision, breaking that streak to secure a dynamic weapon like Boston is a very real possibility, signaling a new chapter for the Steelers' offensive identity.
