This is a really odd move.

The Buffalo Bills' wide receiver corps has been a hot topic of conversation for the past few seasons, but it looks like Josh Allen might finally have the weapons he needs to make a serious Super Bowl push. With the addition of D.J. Moore joining Khalil Shakir, Joshua Palmer, Keon Coleman, and Tyrell Shavers, this group has the depth and talent to compete at the highest level.

However, not everyone is convinced this lineup is set in stone. Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox has floated an intriguing—and frankly, odd—trade scenario that would send Joshua Palmer packing to an AFC rival. Specifically, Knox suggests the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders as potential landing spots for the wideout after June 1.

But here's the thing: that move doesn't make much sense for Buffalo. Trading Palmer would only weaken a position group the Bills have worked hard to strengthen. Sure, a post-June 1 trade would save the team $10 million in cap space while eating just $1 million in dead money—but who's giving up draft capital for a receiver coming off a season where he managed just 303 yards on 22 receptions? Not many teams, especially given that injury derailed his first year in Buffalo.

It's far more logical for the Bills to run it back with Palmer in 2026. He showed flashes of promise before getting hurt, and with the team's recent struggles at receiver, moving on from him would create more problems than it solves. The cap savings wouldn't exactly land a game-changer in free agency, either—there simply aren't any difference-makers available at this point in the offseason.

In a league where depth at receiver is crucial, especially for a contender like Buffalo, trading away a solid option like Palmer feels like a step backward. For now, the Bills should focus on building chemistry with their current roster—not tipping the balance in favor of a division rival.
