Get ready, ski fans—the 2026-27 Alpine skiing World Cup provisional schedule is here, and it's bringing the thrill back to the United States in a big way. With stops in three different states, this season promises high-speed action and hometown hero moments that'll have you reaching for your favorite ski gear.
Mark your calendars for Thanksgiving weekend, because Killington, Vermont, is making a triumphant return to host a women's giant slalom and slalom (Nov. 28-29). This iconic resort has been a staple of the World Cup circuit since 2016-17, taking only a brief hiatus due to the COVID-impacted 2020-21 season and last year's lift replacement. For fans of Mikaela Shiffrin—who trained at nearby Burke Mountain Academy as a kid—this is as close to a home game as it gets. The same weekend, the men will be tearing up Copper Mountain, Colorado, for a super-G and giant slalom, marking another chapter in Copper's comeback after hosting its first World Cup races since 2001 last season.
The momentum doesn't stop there. From Dec. 3-6, the men stay in Colorado for the legendary Birds of Prey races at Beaver Creek, featuring two downhills, a super-G, and a giant slalom. Then, from Dec. 11-13, the women get their turn at Beaver Creek with two downhills and a super-G—a venue that welcomed women's racing for the first time since 2013 just two years ago.
After a whirlwind of European stops in January, the biennial World Championships take center stage from Feb. 1-14 in Crans-Montana, Switzerland. And for the grand finale? The season-ending World Cup Finals return to Sun Valley, Idaho, from March 20-25. Sun Valley, which hosted the Finals in 2025, will crown champions in all four disciplines—downhill, super-G, giant slalom, and slalom—for both men and women.
With reigning overall champions Mikaela Shiffrin (who tied Austrian legend Annemarie Moser-Pröll with her sixth career overall title last winter) and Swiss powerhouse Marco Odermatt leading the charge, this season is shaping up to be one for the history books. Whether you're hitting the slopes or cheering from home, it's time to gear up for an unforgettable ride.
