Berks Catholic's Kingston McKoy has officially cemented his legacy as one of Pennsylvania's top high school basketball talents. On Thursday, the standout senior was named the Class 4A Player of the Year, capping off a remarkable career with a well-deserved honor.
McKoy, a 6-foot-3 guard committed to Colgate University, put up impressive numbers this season, averaging 22.3 points per game. His career total of 1,679 points speaks volumes about his consistency and skill on the court. Earlier this year, he was also recognized as the BCIAA Player of the Year, further solidifying his status as a dominant force in Berks County basketball.
The Saints enjoyed a memorable season, capturing the county title with a hard-fought 62-57 victory over Reading High. They followed that up by repeating as District 3 Class 4A champions, edging Bishop McDevitt in an overtime thriller. Berks Catholic finished the season with an impressive 25-3 record, though their playoff run ended with a narrow 40-35 loss to Carver E&S in the first round of the PIAA tournament.
McKoy's leadership and scoring prowess were instrumental in the Saints' success, and his Player of the Year award is a fitting tribute to his high school career. As he prepares to take his talents to Colgate, fans will remember him as a player who delivered in the clutch and elevated his team to championship heights.
