
Alexandria's softball team went 2-2 at the Hoover Met Complex over the weekend.
The Valley Cubs beat Moody 6-4 and Mortimer Jordan 4-2 but lost to Tuscaloosa County 14-6 and Saraland 3-1.
Charlee Parris hit a solo home run in Alexandria's opener against Tuscaloosa County on Friday.
Jacee Brooks led the Valley Cubs at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored.
Cali Hess and Briley Bright each added a double. Hess finished with two runs and one RBI, while Bright scored once. Reece Carr, Baylee Elston, and Kate Wheeler each singled. Carr drove in two runs, and Elston added an RBI.
Parris homered again in the second game of the day against Moody. Her three-run shot to center field highlighted Alexandria's six-run second inning.
Ryan Lumpkin and Carr each singled against the Blue Devils. Carr, Brooks and Wheeler scored one run apiece, while Katelynn Robertson finished with a run and an RBI.
Khloe England earned the win in the cirlce, allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits and one walk over six innings.
The Valley Cubs opened play Saturday afternoon with a low-scoring loss to Saraland.
Brooks, Carr, and Robertson each singled, with Brooks scoring the Valley Cubs’ lone run on an RBI by Robertson. Parris singled, drew two walks, and stole a base.
England took the loss, allowing three unearned runs on three hits and two walks over five innings.

Brooks finished 3-for-3 with two RBIs, while Wheeler went 2-for-2 and scored two runs. Parris recorded an RBI double, and Bright added a single. Bright and Robertson scored one run apiece.
Marley Edge earned the win in the circle, allowing two earned runs on four hits over 4 2/3 innings.
The Wildcats also went 2-2 at the Hoover Met Complex, defeating Mountain Brook 9-5 and Austin 9-2 and falling to Hartselle 14-5 and Central-Phenix City 8-0.
White Plains opened play Friday with a win over Mountain Brook. Sara Kate Adams broke a 5-5 tie in the top of the sixth inning with a three-run triple.
Karli Otwell led the Wildcats at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Carli Fritts, Jaylie Holt, Elena Hogan and Ansley Prichard each added a single. Adams, Fritts, Holt, Prichard, Piper Thompson, Emma Tidwell and Anna O'Dell scored one run apiece. Carleigh-Anne Green and Hogan each recorded an RBI.
Fritts and Otwell hit solo home runs against Hartselle, with Otwell finishing with two runs scored.
Tidwell went 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI. Thompson, Holt, and Rylee Smith each added a single. Holt scored a run, and Thompson recorded an RBI.
White Plains recorded six hits in Saturday’s opener against Central-Phenix City but was unable to push any runs across against Kayla Storey.
