Head coach Arne Slot updated the Reds’ injury situation ahead of a Saturday meeting with Chelsea in the Premier League.

The tension is building at Anfield as Liverpool prepare for a crucial Premier League showdown with Chelsea this Saturday. With just two games remaining in the season, a victory would all but secure a top-five finish and Champions League qualification—but head coach Arne Slot is navigating a growing injury list that could shake up his starting XI.

Mohamed Salah, Alexander Isak, Alisson Becker, and Giorgi Mamardashvili have all missed training this week, raising eyebrows among fans. Meanwhile, Ibrahima Konaté and Florian Wirtz have been limited to individual sessions rather than full team drills. However, there's a silver lining: most of these key players might still be available for the Chelsea clash.

"Alex trains with us again," Slot confirmed, offering a glimmer of hope. "Yesterday for the first time, but that's a positive. He did parts of it, so hopefully he can do parts—or everything—today, and then we'll see how much we can use him tomorrow." The update suggests Isak, a dynamic forward, could play a role despite the setback.

Slot also provided updates on other absentees: "Giorgi will train with us today for the first time, so let's see how he reacts. Alisson hasn't trained yet but is very close. Mo also hasn't trained with us but is also very, very close. Ibou had a personal reason, and Florian was a bit unwell, but he trained yesterday." This leaves the door open for a late fitness test for several stars, adding an extra layer of drama to Saturday's fixture.

On the flip side, long-term absentees Wataru Endō, Giovanni Leoni, and Conor Bradley are confirmed out for the remainder of the 2025-26 season. It's been a challenging campaign for Liverpool, who started as title defenders but will end without silverware—though Champions League qualification remains firmly within reach. As the Reds look to finish strong, all eyes will be on Slot's lineup decisions and whether his walking wounded can deliver when it matters most.
