The 2026 NFL Draft is just eight days away, marking the thrilling climax of a year-long scouting marathon. For teams, it’s the final stage of evaluating talent, dissecting medical reports, and vetting character—a process where scouts naturally develop strong convictions about certain prospects. These are the players they’ll passionately defend in draft rooms, and like those scouts, I have my own list of standouts who I believe are flying under the radar.

Every evaluator has misses, but it’s the hits that make draft season so exhilarating. With the draft set for April 23-25 in Pittsburgh, the spotlight is intensifying on a deep class of talent, especially at the skill positions.

Let’s start under center. While a first-round grade for Clemson’s Cade Klubnik always seemed optimistic, he’s now become undervalued. A proven leader who plays with smart efficiency, Klubnik may not have the highest ceiling, but he represents quality, reliable depth for any QB room. Similarly, Tennessee’s Joey Aguilar could be a sneaky Day 3 pick—much like Florida’s Graham Mertz was last year—offering the poise and capability to step in as a spot starter when called upon.

In the backfield, Arkansas running back Mike Washington Jr. has been a personal favorite since January, and he only solidified that status by dominating the NFL Scouting Combine. A powerful, bigger back, Washington excels at setting up defenders with sharp footwork before exploding through the hole. He’s the type of physical runner who can wear down a defense.

The receiver class is particularly deep this year, with several names poised to outplay their draft position. Alabama’s Germie Bernard stands out not just for his reliable hands, but for his relentless blocking and willingness to do the dirty work in the run game. That kind of complete, team-first mentality is what gives players like Robert Woods such long and productive careers.

Beyond the usual first-round suspects, Louisville’s Chris Bell possesses the raw tools to develop into a true number-one target at the next level. His route-running has shown significant improvement, and he’s a dynamic threat with the ball in his hands. The major question mark is his recovery from a torn ACL, but if he returns to full health, he has the potential to be a genuine steal.
