Here's who Alabama softball will face first in the NCAA Tournament Tuscaloosa regional.

The Alabama Crimson Tide has roared to the top of college softball, earning the No. 1 overall seed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament for the first time in 16 years. This historic achievement cements Alabama's status as the team to beat and sets the stage for an electrifying postseason run.

As the top seed, Alabama will host the Tuscaloosa Regional at Rhoads Stadium, a venue that has become a fortress for the Tide. Joining them in the double-elimination bracket are USC Upstate (36-21), Belmont (40-11), and SE Louisiana (46-14). Action is scheduled from May 15-17, with game times to be announced soon.

This marks Alabama's 27th consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and their 21st straight season hosting a regional (excluding the canceled 2020 campaign). The Crimson Tide has made 15 trips to the Women's College World Series, with their lone national championship coming in 2012. After a two-year absence from the WCWS, the team is hungry to return to Oklahoma City.

Alabama enters the tournament on a high note, despite a tough loss in the SEC Tournament championship game. The Tide fell 7-1 to Texas, who scored seven unanswered runs to claim their first SEC Softball Tournament title. That setback has only sharpened the team's focus as they prepare for the postseason.

With a powerful lineup, dominant pitching, and the home-field advantage of Rhoads Stadium, Alabama is poised to make a deep run. Fans can expect intense, high-stakes softball as the Tide looks to add another championship banner to their legacy.
