Alabama high school football is heating up as programs across the state finalize their 2026 schedules, and the Pell City Panthers are stepping into the spotlight with one of the toughest slates in the entire state. With a new coaching staff, key transfers, and a hunger to make noise this fall, this team is one to watch.
The Panthers have added a game-changing defensive force: Class of 2027 four-star EDGE Ba'Roc Willis, who transferred from Moody (Ala.) to Pell City for his senior season. Ranked as the No. 9 player in Alabama and the No. 27 EDGE nationally by Rivals Industry Rankings, Willis brings championship pedigree. He was instrumental in Moody's 2025 AHSAA Class 5A state title run, racking up 125 total tackles, 23 tackles for loss, nine sacks, and two fumble recoveries.
Leading the charge is first-year head coach Jake Ganus, a former Georgia linebacker who spent the last four seasons at Moody. Under his guidance, Moody captured its first-ever state championship with a win over Vigor. Now, he's bringing that winning mentality to Pell City.
Here's a look at the full Pell City 2026 football schedule (game times to be announced later):
Aug. 21 – at Bessemer (AL) Bessemer City
Aug. 28 – Phenix City (AL) Central
Sep. 4 – at Pinson (AL) Pinson Valley
Sep. 11 – at Oxford (AL)
Sep. 18 – Odenville (AL) St. Clair County

Oct. 2 – at Pinson (AL) Clay-Chalkville
Oct. 9 – Selma (AL) Southside
Oct. 16 – at Dawson (AL) Douglas

With a mix of road battles and home showdowns, the Panthers are poised for a memorable season. Moody finished 13-2 in 2025, while Pell City looks to build on its own momentum. Whether you're a die-hard fan or just love the game, this schedule is packed with must-see matchups.
