Alabama softball is celebrating a historic sweep of the 2026 Southeastern Conference's top individual honors, as announced by the league on Friday. Ace pitcher Jocelyn Briski has been named SEC Pitcher of the Year, while legendary head coach Patrick Murphy earned SEC Coach of the Year for a record-extending sixth time.
Briski becomes the sixth different Alabama player to claim the prestigious pitching award and the eighth time the Crimson Tide has secured the honor overall. She's the first to do so since Montana Fouts in 2021, joining an elite list that includes Stephanie VanBrakle (2006), Kelsi Dunne (2010-11), Jackie Traina (2012, 2014), and Sarah Cornell (2019).
The numbers behind Briski's dominance are staggering. In 29 appearances this season—22 of them starts—she boasts a 21-2 record with a team-best 1.38 ERA. Her 174 strikeouts against just 19 walks across 136.2 innings pitched highlight her pinpoint control. She's also racked up 13 complete games, four shutouts, and three saves, making her the unquestioned workhorse of the Alabama staff.
For Murphy, this Coach of the Year honor is his first since 2019 and further cements his legacy as the most decorated coach in SEC history. His previous awards came in 2006, 2010, 2012, 2014, and 2019—a dynasty of excellence that shows no signs of slowing down.
The accolades didn't stop there. Briski and infielder Brooke Wells earned First Team All-SEC selections, while Marlie Giles and Alexis Pupillo were named to the Second Team. It's a fitting recognition for a Crimson Tide squad that has dominated the conference all season long.
Whether you're cheering from the stands or sporting your favorite Alabama gear at home, this is a moment to celebrate the hard work and talent that defines Crimson Tide softball.
