After a stellar regular season, Texas A&M softball has officially punched its ticket to the postseason—and they'll be playing on home turf. The Aggies were awarded the No. 15 national seed on Selection Sunday, earning the right to host the College Station Regional at Davis Diamond starting Friday, May 15.
This marks a huge moment for the program: it's the 36th NCAA Tournament appearance in school history and the 24th consecutive trip, which now stands as the seventh-longest active streak in the nation. Even more impressive, Texas A&M will host an NCAA Regional for the 18th time overall and for the third straight season—the first three-year hosting stretch since 2011-13. When playing at home in regionals, the Maroon & White boast a dominant 38-10 record.
The regional field features four teams, each bringing their own storylines. The Aggies will open against Big East champion UConn (31-26) at 1 p.m. Friday on ESPN2. Following that matchup, Big 12 tournament champion Arizona State (41-16) takes on Southland tournament champion McNeese (40-20) at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN+. Notably, Arizona State is the former coaching home of current A&M head coach Trisha Ford, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the bracket. All Aggie games can be heard on the 12th Man Mobile app or locally on Willy 1550 AM.
If Texas A&M advances through the regional, the potential Super Regional matchup could be a classic: a trip to Austin to face rival Texas. That's the kind of storyline that gets fans buzzing and makes every pitch matter even more.
Whether you're cheering from the stands at Davis Diamond or following from home, this postseason run is one to watch. The Aggies are battle-tested, hosting at home, and ready to make noise.
