The Aaron Rodgers-to-Pittsburgh saga continues to deliver twists and turns, but the latest update from ESPN's Adam Schefter has thrown a major wrench into any potential reunion between the legendary quarterback and the Steelers.

Reports surfaced last Thursday suggesting that Rodgers was "expected to" visit the Steelers' facility over Mother's Day weekend—a move that would have signaled serious progress in negotiations. However, during Monday's edition of "The Pat McAfee Show," Schefter dropped a bombshell: that visit never happened.

"The weekend—Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday—have come and gone. Aaron Rodgers was not at the (Steelers') facility once," Schefter stated. "The Steelers have a voluntary offseason workout program that begins one week from today. I know last year Rodgers didn't show up with the Steelers until June, but if he's going to re-sign, I don't know why that wouldn't be done at some point in the next week."

This comes after weeks of speculation linking the four-time MVP to Pittsburgh, following the Steelers' decision to select Penn State quarterback Drew Allar in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The team also placed a UFA tender on the 42-year-old in late April, which would allow Rodgers to accept a 10 percent raise off last year's salary—roughly $15 million for the upcoming season.

Schefter further clarified the confusion surrounding the initial report. "When the report surfaced last week that (Rodgers) was back in town, visiting the Steelers, whatever it was, nobody in the organization knew about it and his agent didn't know about it," he said. "There are a couple of people, in fact, that said, flat out just not true."

Despite the missed visit, Schefter maintained that he still believes Rodgers will ultimately end up in Pittsburgh. But with voluntary workouts starting next week and no deal in sight, the clock is ticking on what could be one of the biggest quarterback moves of the offseason.
