The day of the NFL Draft has arrived, and Pittsburgh is buzzing in the hours ahead of the annual selection meeting. The Pittsburgh Steelers, though, remain without a definitive answer as to who will be their Week 1 starter.

Aaron Rodgers has yet to commit to Pittsburgh for a second season, despite team president Art Rooney II and general manager Omar Khan remaining confident that the situation wouldn’t drag on like it did in 2025. And while Pittsburgh has expressed confidence that they will know Rodgers’ decision soon, the quarterback himself is reportedly unhappy with the organization.

Appearing on 93.7 The Fan, Mike Florio of NBC Sports says that Rodgers is irritated with the Steelers.

“One of my sources… insists that Rodgers is irritated that they talk about him,” Florio said. “He doesn’t like it. He didn’t like it at the owners meeting when [Steelers owner] Art Rooney kind of did the cat-that-swallowed-the-canary smile. They act like they know he’s coming, and we expect to hear something soon. You’ve got to tiptoe around the delicate genius.”

Rodgers didn’t officially sign with the Steelers until June of 2025 just before mandatory mini-camp. From the current look of things, that could be the outcome again should he decide to return in 2026.
