Here’s the latest with the Steelers and Aaron Rodgers.

The Aaron Rodgers-to-Pittsburgh saga continues to captivate the NFL world, and as of now, there's still no resolution in sight. Despite swirling rumors over the weekend, reports indicate that the four-time MVP quarterback did not meet with the Steelers during their rookie minicamp—contrary to what a Pittsburgh radio station had suggested.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter cleared the air on The Pat McAfee Show Monday, stating that no one within the Steelers organization nor Rodgers' agent was aware of any such meeting. "Nobody in the organization knew about it, and his agent didn't know about it," Schefter said, effectively putting the rumor to rest.

This aligns with what Steelers beat writer Mark Kaboly had already posted before the weekend, noting that no meeting was expected. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero added Friday on the Rich Eisen Show that while Rodgers was believed to be in Pittsburgh, there was no scheduled sit-down with the team. Pelissero did confirm that communication between the Steelers and Rodgers' agent, David Dunn, has been ongoing—and that money isn't expected to be a sticking point if Rodgers decides to return.

"Aaron has to ultimately decide what he wants to do," Pelissero explained. "This is just about Aaron making a full and final decision. … He could walk in the door in three minutes for all we know."

Across the board, from Schefter and Kaboly to Pelissero and others, the consensus remains the same: NFL insiders overwhelmingly believe Rodgers will eventually re-sign with Pittsburgh. The timeline, however, remains uncertain. Schefter noted that May 18—the start of Steelers OTAs—"should be circled," but he also reminded fans that Rodgers didn't ink his deal with the Jets until June last year.

Steelers president Art Rooney II had earlier expressed hope that Rodgers would make a decision before the 2025 NFL Draft, which has now come and gone. Despite positive reports from both insiders and team brass regarding communication, reporters continue to emphasize that there is no hidden agreement in place.

As The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac wrote Saturday, the clock is ticking: "If Rodgers doesn't agree to a new deal before offseason training activities begin May 18…" The ball, as always, remains in Rodgers' court.
