What a way to sign off at home! Borussia Dortmund's final Bundesliga match at Signal Iduna Park this season was nothing short of a spectacle—a fitting farewell for the fans and a statement of intent for the future. The Black and Yellows delivered a performance that had everything: early jitters, a dominant response, and a nervy finish that ultimately ended in celebration.

Manager Ole Book summed it up perfectly from the mixed zone: "I had every confidence that the lads would show a different side to themselves today. The response was loud and clear, even if it took a little while to materialise." Indeed, Dortmund started shaky, caught cold by the opposition's first attack. But once they found their rhythm, it was a masterclass in controlled aggression. "We were a bit sloppy defending the opposition's first attack. But after that we got into our stride really well, played well, and at times solved things through our play," Book added. "In the end, we unfortunately had to sweat a little again – unnecessarily – but overall we deserved to win."

Head coach Niko Kovac echoed that sentiment in the press conference, praising the team's resilience. "We've seen a very good end to this Bundesliga season at home with a fine victory, a deserved victory," Kovac said. "We were caught off guard right at the start, but had the game under control after 15 minutes and also scored the goals before half-time, which was of course very important." The second half was a back-and-forth affair, but Dortmund's quality shone through. "I liked the way the team performed, apart from the first 15 minutes, and that's why I'm also glad we're finishing the season in second place. You can be very satisfied with 70 points."

For defender Niklas Süle, the day was extra special. Not only did he mark his 300th career appearance, but he did so in front of his family at a packed stadium. "A lovely day, a lovely setting. It was unbelievably nice to see how the fans reacted!" Süle told Sky. "And the fact that the manager gave me a few more minutes for my 300th game is just brilliant. My whole family was here. I'm going to enjoy the last few days and try to have a bit of fun with the lads. We've now secured second place, which makes us absolutely delighted."

As the season winds down, Dortmund can look back on a campaign that, despite its ups and downs, ended on a high note. For the fans, the players, and the coaching staff, this home finale was a reminder of what makes football—and this club—so special. Now, it's time to savor the moment and look ahead to what's next.
