In the swirling world of NFL trade rumors, no name has generated more buzz this offseason than Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown. While the New England Patriots have long been seen as the most logical landing spot—especially with the Eagles loading up at the position and a potential post-June 1 trade on the horizon—a surprising contender has now entered the conversation.

According to a recent report from Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox, the Kansas City Chiefs have emerged as a potential suitor for the 28-year-old superstar. With just one month until the June 1 trade window opens, the possibility of a Super Bowl-caliber organization swooping in adds a fascinating twist to an already dramatic offseason narrative.

Currently, the Chiefs’ wide receiver room is led by Rashee Rice and rookie Xavier Worthy, with future Hall of Famer Travis Kelce still anchoring the tight end position. Kansas City also made a splash in free agency by adding star running back Kenneth Walker. Still, after a 2026-27 season where the receiving corps struggled to consistently produce, the Chiefs could clearly use another elite weapon to take pressure off Patrick Mahomes.

Landing Brown won’t come cheap. Kansas City would likely need to part with a 2028 first-round pick and a mid-round selection or player. For comparison, the Patriots’ proposed package is similar, with wide receiver Kayshon Boutte frequently mentioned as a key piece. Boutte, however, would be a tough fit alongside Brown, Romeo Doubs, and the rest of Philadelphia's crowded room.

Adding a true WR1 like Brown would instantly elevate Kansas City’s offense, giving Mahomes the deep threat and physical presence he’s been missing. While the Patriots remain the frontrunner, if the opportunity arises, the Chiefs should absolutely try to bring Brown to the Midwest this summer.
