A gold statue dubbed the "Don Colossus" sits on the golf course that the president owns. With the 2026 Cadillac Championship, it's getting some buzz.

When you think of a golf course centerpiece, a water hazard or a pristine green probably comes to mind. At Trump National Doral Miami, however, the main attraction this week isn't a bunker—it's a 15-foot gold statue of President Donald Trump.

Dubbed the "Don Colossus," the massive, gleaming figure has become the talk of the 2026 Cadillac Championship, the PGA Tour event currently underway at the Miami resort. Installed just days before the tournament teed off, the statue has sparked everything from playful jabs to genuine admiration among players and fans alike.

Golfer Rickie Fowler summed it up simply: "It's big and gold." The statue captures Trump with his right fist raised—a pose famously struck after an assassination attempt at a July 2024 campaign rally in Pennsylvania. It's a moment frozen in 3.1 tons of bronze, covered in gold leaf, and perched on a 7,000-pound pedestal that brings its total height to an imposing 22 feet.

The reaction on the course has been mixed, to say the least. Gary Woodland noted the statue's resemblance to the trophy awarded at The Players Championship, while English golfer Tommy Fleetwood took a lighter approach. "If I have my own resort one day, maybe I'll put a big gold statue of me on it," he laughed. "We'll see."

Social media, predictably, has its own takes. One commenter on X pointed out, "He isn't even holding a golf club or anything." Others offered more enthusiastic praise, with one fan simply writing, "Congrats Mr. President." Meanwhile, several spectators have been spotted posing for photos, recreating the iconic fist pump in front of the statue.

Created by Ohio sculptor Alan Cottrill, the "Don Colossus" sits proudly on the course owned by the president, adding an unexpected—and undeniably bold—element to the tournament. Whether you see it as a tribute, a spectacle, or just a conversation starter, one thing is certain: it's giving everyone at the Cadillac Championship something to talk about between swings.
