Former Premier League striker Alan Shearer says that he can understand why Liam Rosenior is struggling as Chelsea manager.
Shearer, like all of us, saw Chelsea lose yet another Premier League game in the fight for a Champions League spot on Saturday evening, pushing their hopes of playing in Europe’s most prestigious competition to near impossible now.

Chelsea are closer to 14th place in the Premier League than they are to 5th place, which is the Champions League spots.
Things have gone from bad to worse for head coach Liam Rosenior, and Shearer blames him as well as the Chelsea owners.

On NBC Sports, Shearer was asked who is to blame our of Rosenior and the owners:
“A bit of both. I think the system Chelsea have adopted and chosen to do is very difficult for whoever goes in there. We’ve seen many managers go in there and struggle. He’s doing the same,” Shearer said.
“It’s difficult to get young players and get them to compete, week after week, and then try to turn it into a huge profit. That’s a difficult job for any manager, let alone a young manager. I blame a bit of both.”
Liam Delap has said Chelsea have the belief they can finish in the top five and win the FA Cup despite their struggles this season. I’d like some of his positivity!
And on Delap, we are already hearing the excuses about why he has not been playing well in a Chelsea shirt since arriving in the summer. We’re all tired of excuses to be honest.
