Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu has dropped a major hint that he could be staying in Turin for the long haul, suggesting contract talks will begin after the World Cup.
The 25-year-old Frenchman has been a rock at the back for the Bianconeri since arriving from AC Milan in the summer of 2024. This season, he's been an ever-present figure in the starting lineup—missing just one game due to a controversial red card in the Derby d'Italia against Inter.
Kalulu was one of the standout performers in Saturday's hard-fought 1-0 victory over Lecce at the Via de Mare. While some fans might have hoped for a more comfortable scoreline, the defender was quick to praise the opposition's resilience.
"We tried hard today. Lecce pushed hard, and we knew it would be a tough match. I'm very happy with the three points," Kalulu said in his post-match press conference. "I saw my goal was disallowed by a hair's breadth. The referee let the ball play long enough—I think he did well."
With Juventus needing to win their final two matches to secure a Champions League spot, Kalulu is keeping his focus locked on the pitch. "Fiorentina and Torino will do everything to make it difficult for us. I don't pay much attention to other teams' results," he added.
Recent reports from Italy and England have linked the defender with moves to Manchester United and Liverpool, while Juventus are reportedly keen to tie him down with an improved contract. But Kalulu seems in no rush to make a decision mid-season.
"I'm happy here, I'm having a season of growth. Now we're focused on achieving our goal. Then, after the World Cup and the holidays, there'll be time to talk about it," he revealed.
His consistent performances haven't gone unnoticed at the international level either. Kalulu has earned call-ups to Didier Deschamps' France squad and will be hoping to represent Les Bleus at this summer's major tournament.
