Arne Slot fired back with confidence when asked about his Liverpool future during Thursday's press conference, making it crystal clear he expects to be at Anfield next season.
The Dutch manager has faced mounting pressure in recent months as Liverpool's Premier League title defense crumbled, leaving the Reds scrambling for Champions League qualification—a spot still not guaranteed. With the season winding down, some former Liverpool players have called for the club to part ways with the 47-year-old once the campaign concludes.
But here's the kicker: multiple trusted reporters have confirmed that FSG plans to stick with Slot heading into next year. And Slot himself isn't backing down.
When pressed about his position, Slot acknowledged the outside noise but stood firm. "I think the world has gone to if a manager doesn't have their best season, there's always a debate, not only at Liverpool but all around the world. That is the new reality in football," he said via Liverpool FC on YouTube. "It's not up to me to judge the people that judge me. They have every right to have their opinion and everyone can share that."
He added with a nod to modern football culture: "That happened 15 years ago as well but then you did it in the pub and not everyone heard it. Now it's probably also in the pub but it's more out in the open than it was before, and it's the same everywhere."
Slot didn't stop there. When asked directly about his future, he delivered a defiant response: "I don't think I decide [his future] alone, but I have every reason to believe I'm the Liverpool manager next season. First of all, I'm contracted to this club; second of all, from all the talks we're having, so that's my take on it."
While this season hasn't matched last year's heights, Slot's message is clear: he's not going anywhere without a fight. For Liverpool fans hoping for stability, that's exactly the kind of resolve you want to see from the man in charge.
