Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid has a knack for keeping fans on the edge of their seats—and his latest health update is no exception. Following a hard-fought first-round series against the Boston Celtics, the former MVP offered a lighthearted take on his condition after a few scary moments on the court.

Embiid entered the postseason under a cloud of uncertainty after undergoing an emergency appendectomy just before the playoffs. The big man missed the Play-In game against the Orlando Magic and the first three games of the Celtics series, leaving fans wondering how far the Sixers could go without their anchor. But when he finally returned in Game 4, he made an immediate impact, posting 26 points and 10 rebounds. From there, he only got stronger, dropping 30-plus points in two of the next three games, including a monster 34-point, 12-rebound, six-assist performance in the decisive Game 7 win.

Still, it wasn't all smooth sailing. During the series clincher, Embiid briefly left the court and emerged from the tunnel wearing what appeared to be a brace on his lower body. Later, in the fourth quarter, teammate Tyrese Maxey collided with Embiid's knee after a push-off from Jaylen Brown. The center immediately limped up the court after grabbing the rebound—a sight that surely made Sixers fans hold their breath.

But when asked about his health after the victory, Embiid cracked a smile. "I feel great. I feel amazing. I was faking it," he told reporters, drawing laughs from the room.

While the Sixers have yet to release an official injury report ahead of their second-round matchup with the New York Knicks, Embiid's humor suggests he's ready to go. Game 1 tips off Monday night at 8:00 p.m., and all eyes will be on the big man to see if his body—and his jokes—hold up against a tough Knicks squad.
