In a major shakeup on the recruiting trail, 6-foot-10 center Trevon Carter-Givens has been granted his release from NC State and has committed to Creighton, multiple sources confirmed to Rivals.
The towering big man from SoCal Academy in California was originally part of the Wolfpack’s 2026 class, signing with the program last November after committing to then-head coach Will Wade in September. But when Wade made a late-March move to take the helm at LSU, Carter-Givens decided to explore other options and eventually requested his release.
Carter-Givens is no stranger to the spotlight. Ranked as the No. 126 overall prospect nationally by the Rivals Industry Ranking, he’s also the No. 15 center in the country and the No. 14 player in talent-rich California. His combination of size, mobility, and upside has made him a coveted piece for programs looking to bolster their frontcourt.
Enter Creighton. The Bluejays had been in the mix for the high three-star big man before his original commitment, and with a new era dawning in Omaha—Alan Huss took over after Greg McDermott’s retirement in March—the timing was perfect. Carter-Givens visited campus earlier this week for an official trip and left with a pledge to join the Bluejays’ rebuild.
It wasn’t just Creighton in the hunt, though. Carter-Givens had a packed offer sheet that included San Diego State, USC, Washington, New Mexico, TCU, Seton Hall, Florida State, UNLV, and several others. His decision to land with the Bluejays signals a strong start for Huss’s tenure and gives Creighton a foundational piece in the middle for years to come.
