The San Francisco 49ers made the decision to trade down in the first round of the NFL draft, but with three picks on Day 2 there's a chance they do it some more.
The Niners had one of the last picks in the first round, the No. 27 pick, until they traded it the Miami Dolphins for the No. 30 and 90 picks. And then, just a few selections later, they turned the No. 30 pick into the No. 33 (second round) and 179 (fifth round) picks, from the New York Jets.
Multiple teams have made calls to the 49ers inquiring about the top pick of Round 2, according to NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero. San Francisco isn't necessarily just hanging up the phone neither.
"The 49ers are getting calls about the No. 33 pick, and it certainly seems as if they are very open to being willing to listen and potentially move back again," Pelissero said. "Among other teams that are calling around, not just the 33 but for other picks at the top of round two include the Dolphins. The Saints have made calls. The Browns and the Jaguars, who, of course, did not have a pick on night one that had product of the Travis Hunter deal a year ago. Could Jacksonville make a big move up? Keep an eye on those teams, among others."
