Four-star safety Davion Jones is narrowing his recruitment down to five powerhouse programs, setting the stage for a highly anticipated commitment announcement. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound standout from Hough High School in North Carolina has locked in official visits with each of his finalists, signaling that a decision is on the horizon.

Jones, widely regarded as one of the top safeties in the class of 2027, has named Georgia, Auburn, LSU, South Carolina, and Indiana as his top choices. According to Rivals' Hayes Fawcett, the talented prospect will embark on a whirlwind tour of official visits starting with Indiana on May 15, followed by Georgia on May 29, Auburn on June 5, LSU on June 12, and wrapping up with South Carolina on June 19. A final decision is expected after he completes his travels.

Ranked as the No. 10 safety and No. 153 overall player in the 2027 class by the 247Sports Composite, Jones is also the No. 7 prospect from North Carolina. His athleticism extends beyond the gridiron—he's an impressive track athlete who finished third in the North Carolina 3A state meet in the 100-meter dash. That speed translates seamlessly to his game, making him a dynamic force in the secondary.

For Georgia, landing Jones would be a major boost to a secondary that's looking to reload. The Bulldogs have had a slow start to their 2027 recruiting class, recently losing five-star cornerback Donte Wright to Miami and seeing three-star wide receiver Aden Starling decommit. Adding a player of Jones' caliber could help turn the tide and solidify their defensive backfield for years to come.

As Jones prepares for his senior campaign at Hough High, all eyes will be on his recruitment trail. Wherever he lands, this speedster is poised to make an immediate impact at the next level.
