The recruiting trail is heating up, and one of the nation's top offensive line prospects is ready to make his move. Four-star offensive tackle Nate Carson has officially set his commitment date for July 3, giving college football fans a major date to circle on their calendars.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound standout from Irmo High School in Columbia, South Carolina, has narrowed his focus to five powerhouse programs: Georgia, South Carolina, Clemson, Tennessee, and Texas A&M. Each of these schools has been vying for Carson's talents, but recent developments suggest one team might have a slight edge.

Just days after Georgia offensive line coach Phil Rauscher paid him a visit in late April, Carson announced his commitment timeline—a move that has Bulldogs fans feeling optimistic. For a program known for churning out NFL-ready linemen, landing a player of Carson's caliber would be a major win.

Carson isn't just any recruit; he's ranked as the No. 170 prospect in the nation, the No. 21 offensive tackle overall, and the top offensive line recruit in the state of South Carolina. His athleticism and mobility set him apart, allowing him to excel at making blocks at the second level of the defense—a skill that's become increasingly valuable in modern college football.

This past season, Carson primarily held down the left tackle spot for Irmo, where he faced off against elite competition, including South Carolina signee and four-star recruit Julian Walker. That experience, combined with his Under Armour All-American status, has prepared him well for the next level.

Before making his final decision, Carson plans to take official visits to most of his top contenders this summer. With his combination of size, technique, and raw power, whichever program lands him will be getting a foundational piece for their offensive line for years to come.
