The recruiting trail is heating up, and the Georgia Bulldogs are in the hunt for a major defensive addition. Four-star linebacker Kenneth Simon II has officially set his commitment date, and the race is on.

Simon, a standout in the Class of 2027, will announce his college choice on Monday, May 11. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound linebacker from Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee, has narrowed his list to four powerhouse programs: Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.

At first glance, Tennessee might seem like the natural fit—the Volunteers are just a three-hour drive from his hometown. But the recruiting predictions tell a different story. Both Rivals and 247 Sports have logged strong projections favoring the Alabama Crimson Tide, suggesting Simon could be donning crimson and white this fall.

For Georgia, this is a critical recruitment battle. The Bulldogs currently hold the No. 18 recruiting class in the nation, a ranking that took a hit after cornerback Jerry Outhouse flipped to UCLA. Even more pressing, Georgia has yet to secure a single linebacker commit in this cycle. But there's reason for optimism: defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann has a proven track record of developing elite linebackers, and his recruiting prowess gives Bulldogs fans plenty of hope.

As the countdown to May 11 begins, all eyes are on Simon. Will he stay close to home, join the Crimson Tide's dynasty, or choose the Bulldogs' rising defense? One thing's for sure—this is a decision that could shape the future of college football's linebacker corps.
