Big news on the recruiting trail: four-star interior offensive lineman Jatori Williams is ready to make his move. After decommitting from Alabama back in December, the Phenix City (Ala.) Central standout has been weighing his options—and now, he's set to announce his next commitment live on the Rivals YouTube channel on May 22.
Williams, a massive 6-foot-5, 320-pound presence in the trenches, has narrowed his focus to five powerhouse programs: Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, and Miami. It's a short list that reflects just how coveted this lineman is on the national stage.
Ranked as the No. 105 overall prospect and No. 9 interior offensive lineman in the 2027 cycle by the Rivals Industry Ranking, Williams is also the fourth-best player in the talent-rich state of Alabama. His blend of size, strength, and technique has made him a top target for programs across the SEC and beyond.
Since stepping back from his early pledge to Alabama, Williams has been methodical in trimming his list. Schools like Auburn, Florida, Missouri, and Tennessee made the cut back in February but have since fallen out of contention as his decision date approaches. It's a sign that Williams and his family are taking this process seriously, focusing on the programs that best fit his long-term goals.
Interestingly, Williams had previously scheduled official visits to Georgia (May 29), Miami (June 5), and Kentucky (June 19). With his commitment now set for May 22, it's unclear whether those trips will still happen. Either way, his decision will send ripples through the recruiting world.
Williams suits up for one of Alabama's premier high school football programs at Phenix City Central, where he's faced top-tier competition. Rivals' Director of Scouting and Rankings, Charles Power, has praised his development, noting that Williams often plays left tackle for his high school but projects as an interior lineman at the next level. Power highlighted a standout junior season, including strong performances against elite competition like IMG Academy, where Williams held his own in pass protection against some of the nation's best pass rushers.
"He's a big, wide-bodied lineman who's really developed," Power said. "He's shown encouraging strides on his junior film, and his ability to handle top competition bodes well for his future."
With his commitment just weeks away, all eyes will be on Williams as he makes the call that could shape his college football future—and potentially the offensive line of whichever program lands him.
