After hanging up his gloves last year following a knockout win over George Kambosos Jr., pound-for-pound legend Vasiliy Lomachenko is officially ending his retirement. The three-division champion, who walked away at 37 after losing two of his last six fights, is ready to return to the ring this fall—and he's not looking for an easy comeback. According to a report from Ring Magazine's Mike Coppinger, the Ukrainian superstar wants a major money fight right out of the gate.

With Lomachenko eyeing a high-stakes return, here are four potential opponents that could make for an unforgettable showdown.

Shakur Stevenson – The fight fans are clamoring for. At 28 years old with a pristine 25-0 record, Stevenson has become the most avoided man in boxing. If Loma wants the ultimate test at lightweight or junior welterweight, there's no bigger challenge—or bigger name—than the undefeated phenom.

Teofimo Lopez – A rematch six years in the making. Lopez shot to stardom with a stunning decision win over Lomachenko in 2020, a defeat the Ukrainian never got to avenge. After Lopez's recent loss to Stevenson, a second fight with "Hi-Tech" would be a high-risk, high-reward move. For Lomachenko, it's a chance to finally settle the score—something he hasn't done for any of his three career losses.

Raymond Muratalla – The IBF lightweight champion is 24-0 and fresh off a win over Andy Cruz in January. At 29, Muratalla is arguably the division's second-best fighter behind Stevenson. A title fight against Muratalla would give Lomachenko an immediate shot at gold and could set up a potential unification bout down the line.

Whether Loma chooses revenge, legacy, or a championship path, one thing is certain: his return is going to shake up the lightweight division.
