After a thrilling 2026 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles have reloaded with eight new picks and a slew of undrafted free agents. While that's great news for the team's future, it spells trouble for a few current players fighting to keep their roster spots. Here are four Eagles who should be nervous as training camp approaches.
1. Rondale Moore, Wide Receiver
Moore signed a low-cost, one-year deal and was always on the bubble. Before the draft, he was likely the No. 4 option behind DeVonta Smith, Dontavyion Wicks, and Marquise "Hollywood" Brown. But after the Eagles used a first-round pick on USC star Makai Lemon, Moore has slid even further down the depth chart. With the team likely carrying just six receivers, Moore faces stiff competition from Darius Cooper, Johnny Wilson, Britain Covey, Danny Gray, and Quez Watkins. Cooper impressed in preseason as a rookie and could be poached from the practice squad. Covey offers punt return value. Wilson is a 2024 sixth-rounder returning from injury. Moore, a 2021 second-rounder, may follow the same path as Terrace Marshall Jr., who missed the cut last year and landed on the practice squad.
2. Jalen Dalton, Quarterback
It's tough to keep four quarterbacks on a 53-man roster, and Dalton might be the odd man out. The Eagles love Tanner McKee as a backup, and they're high on fifth-round rookie Cole Payton from North Dakota State as a developmental project. They won't risk losing Payton to another team's practice squad, so he's likely on the active roster. Dalton is owed just $1.5 million guaranteed for 2026, and the Panthers absorbed some of his salary in the trade. With only three QB spots realistically available, Dalton's seat is getting warm.
3. A Defensive Lineman on the Bubble
The Eagles added multiple defensive pieces in the draft, putting pressure on veterans fighting for the final spots. With young talent pushing for playing time, a few familiar names could find themselves on the outside looking in. The competition in the trenches will be fierce, and any slip in performance could be costly.
4. A Special Teams Contributor
Britain Covey's punt return skills give him an edge, but other special teams specialists could be squeezed out. The Eagles value versatility, and if a draft pick or UDFA shows similar ability, a veteran might lose his job. Every snap in camp will matter for these players.
