Liverpool manager Gareth Taylor has made no secret of his desire to keep in-form goalkeeper Jennifer Falk at the club beyond her current loan spell, but insists the final decision rests with the player herself.
The Sweden international has been a transformative presence since arriving from BK Hacken in January, plugging what had been a glaring weakness in the Liverpool defense during the first half of the season. With her composure, experience, and natural leadership, Falk has quickly become a fan favorite at Anfield.
"Jen's really, really aware of what everyone thinks about her here at Liverpool Football Club," Taylor told BBC Sport. "We understand her situation. I think she's been really brave to come and join us, and she's really enjoyed it. She's at a really good age, she's really experienced, and she's got a lot of knowledge."
The 33-year-old shot-stopper has started every match since her arrival and will again be between the posts when Liverpool host Brighton in Sunday's FA Cup semi-final (12:15 BST). Her influence has been immediate, bringing a much-needed sense of calm to the backline.
"She brings a lot of calmness to the team and she's a natural leader," Taylor added, highlighting the qualities that make Falk such a valuable asset.
As the Reds prepare for a crucial cup clash, all eyes will be on Falk to see if she can continue her stellar form and help guide Liverpool to the final—while fans hold out hope that this isn't the last they'll see of their Swedish star between the sticks.
