'One last push' - Kent ready for title decider

Hearts defender Frankie Kent admits it was difficult to stay focused on the football during their 3-0 win against Falkirk given events elsewhere. When Kent fired in the opener at Tynecastle, Motherwell were 1-0 up at home to Celtic meaning the Premiership title would have been heading to Gorgie on Wednesday night. A night of drama followed and in the end Hearts won 3-0 while Celtic's late penalty at Fir Park edged a five-goal epic to set up a final-day decider at Parkhead, where Hearts can clinch their first title since 1960 with a draw.

Hearts defender Frankie Kent has admitted that keeping his focus on the pitch was a challenge during their dominant 3-0 victory over Falkirk, as the drama unfolding elsewhere threatened to steal the spotlight.

The night at Tynecastle was electric from the start. When Kent fired home the opener, news filtered through that Motherwell were leading Celtic 1-0 at Fir Park—a result that would have handed Hearts the Premiership title right there and then on Wednesday evening. The roar from the stands told its own story.

But football, as ever, had other plans. Hearts secured their comprehensive win, while Celtic mounted a dramatic late comeback with a penalty in a five-goal thriller at Motherwell. That result sets up a winner-takes-all final showdown at Parkhead, where Hearts need just a draw to clinch their first league title since 1960. A moment 63 years in the making.

"There was a lot of emotion in the game, especially at the start," said the 30-year-old defender. "It probably took us a while to settle into the game because of what could be and what we could have expected."

Kent revealed how the energy from the crowd kept the team going. "We heard the noise [when Motherwell went 1-0 up]—that sort of gave us a little spur on. It's quite difficult to hold the emotion and stay concentrated on the game."

With just one match remaining, the message from the Hearts camp is clear. "One more to go, we've done all we can do, it's just one last push and hopefully we can get over the line," Kent said. "This season can hopefully change a lot of our lives and be a special season to remember."

As the Gorgie faithful prepare for a trip to Glasgow, the stakes couldn't be higher. "It's going to be one hell of a game and something we can look forward to," Kent added.

For Hearts fans dreaming of ending a 63-year wait, this is the ultimate prize—and their team is ready to fight for every inch of it.
