Dak Prescott isn't losing sleep over the Cowboys' brutal early-season gauntlet. While fans are already stressing about the three-games-in-11-days stretch—twice—the Dallas quarterback is taking the old-school approach: one game at a time.

"First three games," Prescott said Thursday night at the Reliant Home Run Derby. "After that, I couldn't tell you much more. I mean, I know who we're playing on Thanksgiving and some here or there, but to me, it's the first three games. Honestly, every year, I probably couldn't tell you who our fourth opponent is until Week 2. Just keeping it simple."

That kind of tunnel vision is exactly what you'd expect from a veteran leader. Prescott knows the schedule is the schedule, and complaining about it won't change a thing. "Nothing new," he says. "It's just part of the job."

What he does know? The season kicks off under the bright lights of primetime. The Cowboys open on the road against the division-rival New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Sunday Night Football—a stage Prescott has grown to love.

"It's the best," he admitted. "I anticipated it, having had it a bunch: opening the season in primetime. And then just getting to do it up there in New York, it'll be really, really fun. Always fun playing against those guys, always fun playing on primetime. Something we're used to, and something I really enjoy."

Then comes the home opener in Week 2, where the Washington Commanders will visit a packed AT&T Stadium. For fans, it's a chance to break out the fresh gear and roar for the home team. For Prescott? It's just the next step in a long season—and he wouldn't have it any other way.
