A budding wrestler from Glasgow says she was blown away after landing the opportunity to learn from WWE stars at a wrestling workshop in Las Vegas.

Natasha Swann, 23, works in a bank but for the past two years she has spent her weekends and evenings launching herself around a wrestling ring.

On a whim, she signed up for a seminar for female grapplers held by WWE star Bayley and was taken aback when she was offered a place.

After travelling to the US, she also attended Wrestlemania, a showpiece event where she was able to learn from some of the industry's biggest names.

Bayley is a former women's champion who has starred in WWE for more than a decade. Her Lodestone Women's Wrestling Seminars were set up to support female competitors.

Natasha said: "I saw some English girls I knew had gone over last year and it looked so cool.

"Then I was talking to Isla Dawn, who used to be in WWE, and she was saying no Scottish girls had gone last time.

"I thought what's the worst that could happen by applying?"

She added: "In March I got an email and saw it said Bayley in the sender's name, and she said they'd love to have me over.

"A few weeks later and I was in Las Vegas - it was all a bit crazy."

The one-day course saw several of WWE's biggest stars stop by to help out.

Famous names included former world champion CM Punk, masked Mexican wrestling legend Rey Mysterio and Irish star Becky Lynch - who was the reason Natasha first got involved in wrestling.

"I really liked Becky as a teenager, and it seemed so cool an Irish girl was over there having so much success," said Natasha.

"Getting advice from her at the seminar felt really full circle."

She added: "It was so unbelievable, the whole day.

"A few of us were staying in an Airbnb Bayley had booked us, so we all went along together. We walk in the door and we see Bayley, and CM Punk - who was main eventing at Wrestlemania a few days later - is standing next to her.

CM Punk spoke to the group for about an hour, before a warm-up session featuring Lynch and Seth Rollins, another WWE star and Lynch's real-life husband.

The day saw fitness exercises and a series of short matches held, with the athletes then given feedback.

It also mixed in talks and discussion on other aspects of wrestling.

Popular comedy wrestler Danhausen - who gained a large social media following before even joining a big company on the wrestling scene - spoke to the group about how to get a character over to crowds.
